We have some big news for Jacksonville pet families, and we couldn’t be more excited to share it.
Allied Veterinary Specialists has officially built the Mayo Clinic for Pets with a brand-new, state-of-the-art emergency and specialty animal hospital at The Exchange at eTown in Jacksonville, Florida. The 16,044-square-foot, single-story facility is located at 11245 Bold City St., on the southwest side of The Exchange at the intersection of eTown Parkway and 9B.
The new hospital opened on August 24, 2026, and will operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week — bringing comprehensive emergency and specialty veterinary care to one of Jacksonville’s fastest-growing communities.
AVS was built on a single conviction: that pets in northeast Florida deserve access to the same level of specialty medical care that human patients take for granted. The new eTown location takes that mission further than ever.
What sets this hospital apart is its ability to deliver comprehensive, around-the-clock specialized care entirely under one roof. Rather than referring pets to outside facilities for advanced diagnostics or procedures, the AVS team will be able to handle every need in-house — from emergency triage and critical care to complex surgical procedures and specialty consultations.
“We want to be the Mayo Clinic for veterinary medicine, essentially,” said Dr. Carlos Aragon, co-founder of AVS. “Our goal is to fill a gap in the local market by providing private, specialty-focused care that Jacksonville pet families haven’t had access to before.”
The eTown hospital marks the latest expansion for AVS, which currently operates another location in Daytona Beach. The addition of a new Jacksonville location brings AVS closer to the pet families of Duval County, St. Johns County, and the broader northeast Florida region — communities that have historically needed to travel significant distances to access board-certified specialty veterinary care.
Dr. Brad Mackenzie, co-founder and board-certified veterinary surgeon, has deep roots in the Jacksonville veterinary community and has long seen the need for a dedicated specialty center in the area. The eTown facility represents years of planning, investment, and commitment to raising the standard of veterinary care available to Florida pets.
If you are a primary care veterinarian near Jacksonville, the northeast Florida region and Georgia, we want to connect with you. AVS is built on collaborative partnerships with referring vets, and our eTown team will be reaching out. In the meantime, our Daytona Beach location remains fully operational and ready to receive referrals.
Follow AVS on Instagram and Facebook for construction updates, team announcements, and an inside look at the new eTown facility as it takes shape. We’ll be sharing milestone updates all the way to opening day.
