At AVS, our Internal Medicine team combines clinical expertise with advanced diagnostic technology to get to the root of your pet’s condition and build a treatment plan around it. Our internists and criticalists work closely with our emergency and specialty teams to provide continuous, coordinated care. COMMON PROCEDURES
Endoscopy
Endoscopy is a minimally invasive procedure that allows our specialists to examine the gastrointestinal tract and respiratory system using a flexible camera. Because endoscopy requires no large surgical incision, recovery is often faster and more comfortable for patients.
Endoscopy can be used to:
- Evaluate chronic vomiting or diarrhea
- Obtain biopsy samples
- Remove certain foreign objects
- Investigate chronic coughing
- Examine the esophagus, stomach, intestines, and airways
